Can I just say synagis approval is such a complicated, frustrating process? I'm so thrilled that my 29 weekers are doing so well but it's so scary that they just barely miss qualifying. We're appealing but have been told to expect another denial.

Re: Denied synagis
It does suck. We are also on the cusp... havent heard anything yet, but by the APA guidelines we miss the cutoff by 9 days. If she were 9 days younger she would have been a 26.5 weeker that qualifies instead of a 25 weeker who doesn't qualify....frustrating
Preemieprimer had some good letter templates. I hope you are successful with an appeal!

My 29 weeker was denied last year too (and the appeal was denied). She missed the cut off by 6 days. Since she wasn't in day care and had no older siblings in school, she wasn't considered high risk enough for them. It sucks. I was really mad.
It sucks, I'm sorry! They used to give synagis to every preemie but they've gotten really strict with the criteria in the last several years because it is SO expensive. (Thats what the pedi told me) I was even more mad because from the first visit to the pedi they told us she would get Synagis and it was such a shock when she was denied.
