I hate Carseats...

I don't know what the heck is going on.

I've used 3 different car seats now for little bit and they all do the same!

I think it just might be how my car is made...

But it makes the carseat sit upright... I mean following the directions with the leveling bubble on the carseat... it's leveled but it makes my newborn sit uprigth... which inevitably makes her head flop forward.

I had a heart attack the other dat because she was sound asleep and her head was flopped forward I thought it may have cut off her breathing. But it hadn't.

I hate hate hate it!! I have even bought those neck support things for her. They don't work either.

What the heck do you guys use to keep their head from flopping forward or from side to side?

Any specific neck supporters that work well?

Re: I hate Carseats...

  • This is very normal. It isn't a car seat issue, actually, if the seat is installed correctly, this usually happens. We used a Boppy Noggin Nest, which did a pretty good job when DS was just a little bobblehead.

  • Our carseat has a way to tilt it back, which has nothing to do with the leveling. Which seats have you tried?
  • Our hospital saftey girl said to roll up a reciving blanket and make your own head rest
  • When he was just born we rolled up a blanket and put up over the top of his head and around his body to hold him snug. Now we have these little bears that velcro onto the straps and they hold his head comfortably, he's able to lean on them to sleep and he chews on them sometimes.
  • We have the chicco keyfit and don't have that problem at all. I would not like it if her head was flopping forward, not good.

    IT'S A GIRL

  • Mine did that too and I went to the heath department for wic and they gave me a foam block to put under the base..works like a charm
  • Check your local area car seat inspection site, and get your installation checked. It is possible that your seat is not a good fit for your car, and they will know how to guide you. I have the Chicco key fit 30 and love it! We have to use a swaddle wrap to keep LO calm in the seat, but she has good head control.
