(Repeat from 3-6 board) HELP! I'm so stressed out about how I'm going to get my baby into the crib! She has severe reflux and milk allergy issues. I've had her in the rock and play, Which has been amazing but now it's the only thing she will sleep in (besides her carseat and stroller). She has slept in her crib once for an hr. And in her pack n play 1ce for 3 hrs at night. Then her nose gets so stuffy she can barely breathe. She is almost 5 months old and can roll over both ways. In fact a lot of times she rolls on her tummy and then just starts crying and wont roll back over. I know she can though. She has done it a couple times. But rolling to her tummy is no problem! I've tried a wedge in the crib but she just moves right off of it. She is all over. She is going to have to share a room with her 22 month old sis but I'm just trying to get her to sleep on her back in the pack n play first, which is in our room at the moment. I'm ready to get some sleep and really want to get her in her crib! Any tips, magic products, or ideas that worked? Or should I just wait it out another month and try to stretch the rock n play? I've heard things get a lot better at 6 months? She is starting to get better as long as she takes her prevacid.... Well thanks for any and all info!
You need to see a specialist. The stuffy nose is a result of the reflux and she may need stronger meds. My DD was on Zantac and when we saw a specialist she had multiple ulcers, blood in her stool (even though we didn't see anything), and had damage to her throat and breathing issues...she was also always stuffy and only slept in the car seat. We did put her in a bassinet and in the middle of the night I head her choking in her sleep, she was turning blue choking on her own reflux! That's what got me to take her to a specialist.
I was told to ONLY let her sleep on her stomach and with a crib wedge. We had to put her on multiple meds a day, she had eating issues until almost 2, I was on a very strict diet and when she started solids so did she.

Are you putting the wedge under the mattress to prop up one side? Of not, try that. FWIW, DS didn't sleep in his crib once until 7 mo. It does get tricky once they start rolling over though. If you think you can wait another month, I would. As PP said, it does not sound like the reflux is controlled and I think that should be your primary concern.
Oh we have a specialist. Guess I should have given some background info! She takes a 15 mg prevacid solutab a day (half in am and half in pm) which is max dosage and we put rice cereal in her bottle plus she is on EleCare formula. No blood in stool at last check up (yay!). so yeah... we are pretty much at our max here... I put the wedge under the sheet... maybe I should try under matress? She's just all over the crib. Her feet will end up beingelevated!! :)As far as the reflux Ive been told you cant really stop it from happening but you can control the acid with the meds (oh and we do use mylanta when needed). We go back to our specialist on the 10th. I'll ask her about what you guys said. Yeah the constant stuffyness is annoying for her I'm sure! Poor kid! Thanks guys!
In that case... I'd wait to push the crib transition as long as you feel the RNP is safe for her/she can still be strapped in and you keep an eye on her. Once DS started rolling over, we had to give that up. He was swaddled so we couldn't actually strap him into the RNP (since one strap goes between the legs). Once he started rolling over in that while swaddled, it obviously freaked us out. Hang in there. She'll outgrow the reflux eventually.
