Tummy sleeping more comfortable

My 5 w/o DS has reflux and bad gas.  He's on zantac and takes BioGaia probiotic as well as Ovol drops.  He also doesn't like to burp. The past week I've been letting him sleep on his tummy during the day when his gas is really bad.  Last night he was flailing around in his cradle and grunting and groaning from gas pains so I flipped him onto his tummy and he went right to sleep.  We have the angel care monitor and he sleeps in our room.  He throws up a lot at night so I would prefer to have him on his side or his tummy anyway.  Anyone else in the same boat?

  • On occasion I let her sleep on her tummy. She sleeps on a bed side crib. It helps her gas as well.

  • DS1 tummy slept from 8 weeks on and lived to tell about it. Plus it's great you have the monitor. Just make sure there's no blankets bumpers or stuffed animals near bambino.

  • Yep, my LO has always liked to sleep on his belly.  I put him on his belly for all of his naps.  Sometimes at night after his middle of the night feeding, if I have trouble getting him back to sleep (this week his nose is really stuffed up so he cries when I put him back in his RnP), I just put him in his crib on his belly.  He sleeps great that way.

  • Same with mine. He toots so often and sometimes so forceful I have him sleep on his tummy. He sleeps next to me in his cosleeping bassinet or we bed share when mommy is really trying to get some sleep.

  • Ours sleep so well on his tummy. He is 10 weeks old and sleeping on his tummy has gotten him naturally into a routine. His bedtime sleep is between 8 and 9 pm and last for 6 to 9 hours then eats and sleeps another 2 to 3 hours. His gas pains seem significantly better. We also feel comfortable with it because he's got great he's strength and is a wiggle worm. He moves from one end of his crib to the other by the time he wakes up to eat. So he's not laying there helplessly on his tummy.
