Gifts for kids when the new baby arrives

Do you think this is a good idea? Baby will be here next week sometime (being induced) I've been kind of irritable lately and I don't feel too hot about being a good mom these past couple weeks. Just thinking something small and a little note in a card..? Any suggestions? My daughter is 10.5 and my son is 7 :)

    We always try and give "big brother" and "big sister" gifts.  I find it hard on the older siblings because they see the newborn getting showered in gifts and kinda feel left out and to show them that we recognize it is a big milestone in their lives to.

    I don't have suggestions but what are your kids into?

    Well my dd has been into her dolls lately, barbies and monster high dolls..and lil man loves beyblades. I was hoping to get them those items more for christmas..I have a very tight budget so I was hoping to keep it at around $10 per child.
