Circumcision bleeding

Today when I went to go change LO's diaper his penis was bleeding so I called the doctor who said to apply pressure and if it stopped not to worry about it. Well it happened again the second changing and I applied pressure and it did stop. It looks like the ring is really close to falling off. It could possibly come off today. Is this normal? Should I take him to the doctor even though the bleeding has stopped?

Re: Circumcision bleeding

  • Are you using the gauze and Vaseline to protect the circumcision so it doesn't stick to the diaper? Was it getting stuck to the gauze?

I was just going to ask the same thing.  The only way I can see that wound being disturbed is if vasoline was not being used.

OP said ring is close to falling off. This is the plastibell method so vasoline isnt used.
DS's ring is about to fall off too. It is red and raw looking but isnt bleeding. I would call the pedi if you are worried.
