NWMR: Balance Bikes?

Balance Bikes on MamaBargains. Are they really that cool? Worth getting???

Some people swear by them, but my son never got into it. He was way more excited to get a "real" bike with pedals a few months later.

They are great, (we have two) but you can also just buy a "real" bike and take the pedals off, because that's the only difference between the two.  Below is the link I used to get DS1 and DS2 to ride a bike in 3 days (no training wheels needed).  DD2 is almost 4 and she will probably be able to ride next spring (I couldn't handle 3 learning to ride at once).

My friend had that for her children when they lived in Europe. She claims all the kids had balance bikes rather than training wheels.

My son has one and loves it, another bumpy and I are taking our sons to a dirt track next week to race with other toddlers.
