Help w grunting

My 2 weeker is SUCH a grunter when she sleeps. It keeps me awake and makes me think she is uncomfortable or hungry etc. so i end up feeding her or holding her more. Thinking I am going to move her into her room sooner than later. My two yr old was a grunter too and she ended up having reflux. So I am worried this is coming my way again! Any other grunters? Tips?

Re: Help w grunting

  • Babies are really loud sleepers!  We moved our baby into his own room after a couple weeks for the same reason.  I just wasn't sleeping well at all constantly thinking he needed something when really he was just sleeping.  I've read several posts around here where everyone says the same thing.  If you find you aren't getting good sleep, don't feel bad about moving him to his own room.  The grunting is normal.

  • ours is a big time grunter.  He makes noises and moves around all night...but he's zonked out.  He's been in his own room (which is attached to ours) since night one and when he's awake he cries for real, for everything else he's still got his eyes closed and he's happy as a clam.

  • I had ds in the rnp at first and he was so loud. Moving him to a bassinet helped a ton. I was really concerned with the chin to chest in the rnp and I believe it was causing a lot of his noises.

  • I don't have any suggestions but I am so glad you posted this. DD is making in her crib and I am glued to the monitor because she SO LOUD. I jump at every little noise then feel bad that I am waiting her out to see if she actually cries. She is the same way at night and I definitely don't sleep as soundly anymore, but I think that might be part of the mom gene now. :

  • Mine grunts. I put her in her crib in her own room.

    Problem solved.

  • MY BABY IS THE SAME WAY... HE DOESN'T HAVE REFLUX.. HE'S JUST A LOUD SLEEPER SO WE MOVED HIM TO HIS ROOM & CRIB A COUPLE WEEKS AGO. I GET MUCH BETTER SLEEP, WHEN WE GET TO SLEEP ;)
