Hi everyone!
DD is now 6 weeks old and I'm ready to introduce a bottle and try to be able to swap between breast and bottle feeding. Our LC told us not to let her go near a bottle until after 4 weeks because of nipple confusion, and time has been flying so here we are! Has anyone else waited this long to do an introduction to bottle? Or if you do breast and bottle, can you recommend what bottles/nipples your baby likes? I don't know where to start with bottles and nipples and there are so many choices that I'm scared to pour money into a lot of materials that will go to waste.
TIA!!
Re: XP: Introducing a bottle
My baby has no nipple confusion at all! I BF and supplement with formula. He was put on a bottle at about 2 weeks. I have to wear a nipple shield during BF and we use about 3 different types of bottles and all have different shaped nipples. He never has had a problem.
good luck.
My son has only has 3 bottles so far. He had the first one at almost 4 weeks old and is now 5 weeks old. When he is first given the bottle, he does fight it a little, but then he will drink. Somehow, though, he doesn't seem satisfied after. When he does breastfeed a few hours later, he doesn't have any problem latching on. It seems he just has to get a lite more used to the bottle.
