Chloe doesn't sleep during the day unless she is in my arms when we are at home. I have no problem getting her to nap when we are out, in the carseat, stroller, carrier, no issues at all! She came to a football game with us at 3 weeks, and slept through it. But at home... That's where we struggle. I can't seem to put her down. She will wake within ten minutes. I've tried the bassinet, crib, our bed, the rocker, the bouncer.... I wait until she is full and happy, and falls asleep in my arms. I hold her 2030 mins to make sure she is totally out. Still nothing. Hmmm.
At night she generally sleeps 9:30 pm to 1:30 am then 2 am to 6 am. She has been sleeping in the bassinet in our room for most sleeps.
Ideas to help me? I need to get things done around home! I don't like cooking with her in the carrier invade something hot splashes up, and I can't see what I'm doing with a knife.. Just not a safe thing I don't think. Making dinner is hard with a screaming overtired baby who refuses to nap :
Re: Advice for daytime naps?
You said he sleeps in the car? Could you take him for a short car ride, then leave him in his car seat for a while? Or like all the grannies tell me, put the car seat on a running washer or dryer.
The daytime swaddled makes me nervous because it was the key to getting her down at night, I'm scared that if I swaddled durin the day too, her dys and nights might get mixed up again. Did you have any issues with this?
For 2 straight weeks, Lo has been clingy and refuses to be put down and today is the first day I got him to sleep somewhere besides my arms!
I think her night time sleep is established enough that it won't affect her. I would swaddle her during the day as well, if its what works to get her to sleep.
My LO Is the same way as yours though. He will cat nap all day long. As long as I'm holding him he'll sleep all day, but when I put him down, he wakes up. Its frustrating. If I didn't have to do a million things I'd happily hold him all day long.

What is her daytime schedule like? How long is she awake at a time? I swaddle Avery for naps and nighttime and she sleeps pretty well for both.
I've found that Avery will wake up early from a nap if I keep her awake too long and she sleeps SO much better if I put her down for nap and beds when she is still awake but drowsy. Whenever I put her down once she is already asleep, she wakes up shortly thereafter screaming! Putting her down drowsy but awake has helped her to soothe herself to sleep, so when she does wake up while she is napping she soothes herself back down without a peep, just a few wiggles.
