Pregnancy Test Question

when is the latest you got a positive?

I always got a positive on 10dpo, but today I am 6 days late and last night I got a negative.  I don't think I am, but i guess there is always a slight chance.

The reason why I am concerned is that I take medicine that is harmful for a baby...so that is why we use protection.

Im wondering if I should stop taking the medicine until I know for sure?

I never have been later than 30 days and I was posting that I get my period every 22 days!!  now I am at 36 days.... 

I do have a thyroid condition and that is probably the likely cause but I am just worried about the medicine.

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

You should use your first pee in the morning because the pee is more concentrated then.  I got a negative with DD because i was peeing on it late in the day and i drink lots of water.  Also, the second time i did it, i let it sit for longer than the 2 min or so that it says and finally it showed a second line. 

 As far as the medication and interaction, I would call your doctor for a suggestion.

I would retest first thing in the morning. Until then, I would check with your doctor to see if it is better for you to miss a dose of medication or not. Your doc might even want you to come in for a test.

yeah I have a call in now.  I am just panicking because if I am than I am already 2 weeks pregnant, you know.  I have been careful so I am just hoping this is a fluke and my thyroid condition causing issues.

Do you know that you actually ovulated?  You're probably not actually late.  I agree with the PPers about asking the doc and using FMU.

well im not charting but I have never missed a period in 17 years except when I was pregnant, so that is what got me nervous  so it is definitely possible.

Any chance you could call your doc and do a blood test? Your doctor could help you proactively figure out what is going on, especially due to the medication worries. Good luck!

My cycles are 29 days on average, but every five years or so I'll have a 36-day cycle, since I have a short LP, I could get a BFP as late as CD38 for a viable pg and CD42+ for a non-viable pg (e.g. ectopic BTDT).  After BCPs or medications I am known to have 40-day cycles, so add four days to my math above.  Wishing all is well for you!

A wonky cycle once in a blue moon is pretty common.  Since you have concerns with taking your meds while pregnant, talking to your doctor is best.  It may be helpful to ask him/her what the plan is if you don't test positive on a blood or urine test for X amount of days and your period still doesn't show.  GL.

I am going to get a beta this week and I am actually getting an ultrasound wednesday because of a cyst I have had for a few months...so that may or may not give any kind of an answer... just to make sure and I am going off the medicine until I get it (I can for a short period of time).  Otherwise they are going to do my thyroid blood tests again and see whats going on.

He wants to cover all the basis because I have so many autoimmune issues...
