Preemies

teething?

DD has been chewing on her bottles, pacifier and her little fingers, fussy and last night while cleaning her gums I found a little bump. She's my first so I'm going to ask her pedi to be sure at her well check this month, but I'm pretty sure she's teething. She's 3 months actual, 1 month adjusted, just seems too soon for teeth!

Re: teething?

  • It is...but it's right on time for teething, which will now become the thorn in your side until her two year molars break. It's one of those surprising motherhood treats people forget to mention. I used to have nightmares that DS would give me a crazy tooth-filled grin by five months actual - but he's 18 mo now, has 6 teeth, and just broke two top molars. He turned out to be slower on the teeth-getting spectrum. I wish he'd gone faster like a band-aid, though I love those gums!

  • I will definitely keep an eye for the pit in her gums. Dh has been trying to talk me into getting the cookie things for her to chew on, but she is definitely not old enough for solids yet.

I gave him a cold carrot stick (like the whole carrot - not slices or baby ones).
