Tampons PP.

I was so excited to finally be able to stop wearing pads/sit around in my own blood all day. I've been lightly bleeding, so I popped a tampon in the other day. It was a little uncomfortable putting it in, but over the next few hours, I felt the tampon. I've been wearing these things (same brand and everything) for almost ten years and never, ever felt them while in or had any pain inserting/taking out. When I had to take it out, it hurt...enough to make me wince.

It doesn't make any sense because we've DTD and that didn't hurt...and SO is definitely larger than a tampon.

So, what gives? Anyone else in this boat? I'm so bummed to have to walk around with this half of a diaper in my underwear again. BOOOOOOOO.

ETA: If you didn't know this was TMI by the title, I don't know what to tell ya.

Re: Tampons PP.

  • AF is currently visiting and I'm scared to use a tampon. We've DTD and that went great...so I'm not sure why I'm scared to use one. Could your discomfort be because the tampon is in for a lot longer than ahem your SO?

  • Is it possible that you are drier than normal, so you are feeling it more?

  • Prior to getting KU, I could sometimes feel them if I was drier than usual while taking allergy meds. My guess, that's your problem. It was usually just the first day that I had the problem. You may try again and see if it's better the second day. Keep in mind that this is not from PP experience, though! I'm pretty sure I had AF last week and was stuck in the hospital pads I had left over because fellow bumpies pointed out tampons could be a bad thing before I'm cleared.

  • I agree with PP about the dryness thing. If I take a tamping out when it's still "dry" it's almost like it sticks to me and hurts.

Ugh, that's probably it. I'm over this desert condition I'm in.

  • I was actually going to post and see if I could use a tampon because I'm pretty sure I've got my period as I had stopped bleeding for weeks and now I am again. I hate pads and slept with one last night and am already sick the uncomfortable feeling.

I too am nervous for some reason about using one, and we've DTD quite a few times. I wasn't nervous about that and a tampon is nothing compared to a penis lol

  • I ditto the dryness.  My period isn't as heavy as a normal one or as uncomfortable as my first PP AF was with DD but tampons do hurt a bit.

Romeo & Juliet, if you are 6wks PP with a tear I'd say you are ok.  4wks pp w/o a tear or C/S, ok also. I was told nothing in the vagina for a week after my c/s.
