Newbee with some problems

Hello,

I have a son who is 21 months old he is a twin. In the last several months I slowly have started to notice a change in his behavior. He has become a very whinny and "stressed out" child. His attitude will change at the drop of a hat. One minute he will be cuddling with me on the couch watching super why and one small thing happens that will set him off and cause him to get mad. He does his high pitched yelping sound, he will try and swat at you, and he will not let you touch him. I'm actually the only person who can get him to calm down and even then that only lasts for a few minutes. Some nights it takes DH and I hours to get him to go to sleep. He will scream and scream and when my husband holds him tightly to his chest BOY DOES HE HATE THAT! he screams and tries to free himself like my husband is sufficating him. He gets so fustrated over small things, like when he cant take off his socks he will start to freak out and scream.

I thought that maybe because I stayed home with him the first year of his life that his strange behavior was due to his new change in being in a daycare but its been since january! Im starting to wonder if I should take him to see a specialist. Some nights when he screams like that I just cry, I don't know how to help him. I try to comfort him as much as possible I love that little boy with all my heart. I don't know why he freaks out like that and gets so angry and fustrated so easily. My husband and I don't argue or fight in front of him so I dont know where this angry behavior comes from. It's just so strange that one minute hes my sweet little boy giving kisses and hugs and in the snap of your fingers hes freaking out. Is this normal terrible two

Re: Newbee with some problems

  • It couldn't hurt to talk to your pedi about it, although this could very well be normal behavior and just his way of expressing himself.  Good luck, it never easy when we get so worked up we cry too :-(
