Sleep sheep question

Does the sleep sheep just help your LO fall asleep or does it also help them STAY asleep? I bought the on the go travel version not realizing that it doesn't have a continuous play option. I was trying to decide if I should also buy the full size one.

    The full size only plays for 45min. I tried it with ds1 but he would wake when it shut off. I bought a homedics sound machine and we still use it every night and nap. I have a second one for ds2.

    My son always wakes up when the sleep sheep turns off. I have a sound machine from Brookstone in his nursery. My favorite settings are white noise and stream.

    If I put the toggle between the 23 and 45 mine stays on until I turn it off.
