Cool Mist Humidifier

My 4 week old son gets a little nose congestion overnight so we put a cool mist humidifier in his room. We turn it on low and leave it on all night. My mom said I should ask the doctor before using it, but I dont think its necessary. Those of you that use humidifiers, did you ask your ped first? Thanks!

  • I don't think you need to ask a doctor first. If anything, they'd recommend it anyway. I love ours.

  • DD is also 4 weeks and had a bit of congestion a week ago. I used it without asking my pedi because everyone told me to buy a humidifier because if she got congested the first thing the pedi would tell me to do is use a humidifier.

  • We run ours every night.  We never asked the pedi.  Then when I did ask the pedi to check out her stuffy nose at her 2 month checkup she said to make sure we had a humidifier ;)

  • Our pediatrician recommended we use this since our LO was very stuffy as well. Also, try saline solution and suction it out after a few seconds. This helps as well. Our billy goat girl now sounds much better!
