Late Term and Child Loss

Anyone with complications after delivery?

So it has been over 3 months since I delivered our triplets. As if the losses are not hard enough, I have had constant pain in one leg and pain in both hips. It "seemed" to lessen while I was out on leave for 6 weeks. But the minute I got back to work and was on my feet walking around, climbing ladders, bending and squatting for 8plus hours the pain came back with severity.

I can walk, I can function with the pain, but it is constant.

I saw my regular doc who referred me to a neurologist with an almost 2 month wait. The appointment was today and I got sent for more x-rays, an MRI and told to come back in 3 weeks.

So today was an awful day, I cried through the whole appointment, had to tell the whole story again, still have no relief from the pain and it is a constant reminder.

So, anyone else have a weird complication/side effect like this? Thanks.

Re: Anyone with complications after delivery?

  • Towards the end of my pregnancy I developed what I believe is sciatica.  I had horrible pain in my right leg, and it continued after delivery.  I never went to the Dr. for treatment, but I recently started doing yoga and pilates and stretching, this seems to help a lot.  It was really hard at first, I could barley straighten my legs out in front of me, but now it's getting easier and I am in less pain.

  • I have no experience with this, I just wanted to say I am so sorry you are having to go through this. Huge hugs!
  • I haven't had any complications but I wanted to say I am sorry you have to go through all that. It must be hard to get through each day in pain. I hope you get some relieve very soon.

  • Have you tried a chiropractor? Mine really helped with my hip pain while I was pg, I don't see why it wouldn't help now. I tend to have lower back/hip pain in general and she works wonders.

  • Ladies,

Thank you for the great suggestion. I have been thinking of looking into a chiropracter and a new pilates studio did just open up in our town. Your support as always is amazing.

    Thank You

  • I did too... it felt like my hips got out of wack or something. My then-OB said that it was possible that when my hips widened during pregnancy, things got a little out of wack (for lack of a better phrase). I started yoga a few months after delivery and I took things really easy in class (rolling on my back was horribly painful at first!)... I told the teacher about the pain too, and she helped me figure out more comfortable postures during class. After several months of going 1-2 times per week, things really started feeling much better. Sometimes, my hips will still hurt, but nowhere near like before. I hope you get some relief soon!!!
