Hi all! hope everyone's beautiful babies are doing fantastic
My LO cannot get a good sleep unless his arms are to his sides in a swaddle wrapped very tightly. He has started to roll over so I know it's time to unswaddle his arms. We are going into night 3 now and it's slowly getting better.....thank goodness cuz mama's tired.
Now I am moving him out of his rock n play into his crib. I am not strong enough to let him cry it out....any tips? I'm a FTM and I'm sure this should have been done a long time ago.. he wakes himself up and his arms fly around and he just hates being in there!!
Re: finally got the guts to unswaddle
I actually re-swaddled DD, but we went about 2 weeks unswaddled so I might be able to help.
1. Babies usually throw their hands over their head when they startle, so if you put your LO's arms above his head to sleep, he'll be less likely to startle himself awake.
2. I tried to put DD down when she was almost asleep, and then I would hold her arms down for a few minutes while she fell asleep the rest of the way, so she wouldn't jerk around and wake herself up more.
