Formula and Diaper Rashes?

Hi there! I don't post much, mostly I'm a lurker, but I thought I'd come to you ladies to see if any of you have had a similar experience and what has worked to fix the problem for you!

About 3 weeks ago my 11 month old DD started getting a diaper rash. She has never really had trouble with rashes before so I just tried a few different butt creams . Zincofax, Aveeno brand... and it didn't really help. Took her to the doctor and the doctor gave a prescription for Clotrimazole and said to use it three times a day and to use Vaseline for the other diaper changes. Did this and it cleared up fairly well in a few days. She spent the night with my mom the other day and I put the cream in the bag but forgot to tell my mom about it and so she didn't use it and after one diaper change without it the diaper rash was back with a vengeance. This cream is supposed to be used for 3 weeks so I wouldn't have thought that one diaper change without after 3 weeks with would make a difference like this!

As I was thinking about it I realized that the start of the diaper rash corresponded with weaning and starting formula. I googled Formula allergies and diaper rash and have been finding mixed information. Some people say yes, definite link, others say it's a myth. So I thought I'd ask you ladies! Do any of your formula fed babies have trouble with diaper rashes? Have you changed the brand of the formula? Used a specific rash cream with good results? We have tried two brands of formula so far. Enfamil A+ (a sample) and then since DD did well with it and didn't seem to be averse to the taste we have been using a generic brand, Parent's Choice.

    DS has only ever had formula and he's never really had a diaper rash. So I can't be much help, sorry. I have used Desitan a few times, when he had a little bit of a rash, and it worked really well.
    After 2years TTC and 1yr,2mo waiting for an adoption match, our blessing is here!

    DD started formula at 7 1/2 months and DS at 3 months.  Neither had diaper rash associated with it.  I've not heard of it causing diaper rash but who knows.

    DS has never had a rash.  DD had her first one, which was horrible, after eating a bunch of papaya fruit.  She didn't have any regular diaper rash issues until she was about 2yrs+

    NICU nurse at our gym told me that they don't use Desitin because it stings sometimes.  They use Boudraus Butt Paste.
