Pregnant after a Loss

Charting after your miscarriage?

When did you start charting after your miscarriage? Did you wait until your first normal cycle or did you start right away?

Re: Charting after your miscarriage?

  • We started charting the day I was released from the hospital.  I was very glad that I did bc I ended up having horrible bleeding about a month later and needed a D&C.  Charting helped us focus on healing my body and looking toward the future (even though it was extremely painful and difficult).

  • I waited a few weeks and then started charting a week or so before they told me to expect AF. My temps. were inconsistent and other signs were off, but it felt good to be keeping track of it. I called it my "interim miscarriage chart." Then when AF came I started a new chart and called that the start of a new numbered cycle.

  • I was told to TTA for 2 cycles following m/c, so I didn't start charting until after my first cycle.   I probably would have started earlier if I was allowed to TTC earlier.

  • I started charting within a week or so after my d&c(s). I wanted to make sure I ovulated that cycle, and it helped me to feel "in control" of something.

He's my fairytale, a dream when I'm not sleeping.

Same here. Although I must say I'm not sure if I would do it again, as seeing that I did not ovulate that first cycle kind of freaked me out for no reason since we were TTA.

  • I started a couple weeks after.  I was told to TTA for 3 cycles, but because I had never charted before, I used that time to get used to the routine of temping.  Good thing I tracked though because my cycle never came and after 89+days of no AF I had to see the doctor and then was placed on meds to jumpstart my cycle.

  • I started charting when first AF came. We got pregnant that month.

  • I started charting using my mc as cd1. the first "cycle" wasn't normal, but I was glad to have a record of what was happening with my body and how long I had been bleeding, etc.

This. If you're interested, you can see my m/c chart in my siggy. It's the one directly below my BFP chart. I don't think I ovulated before my first AF, and I got AF just 4 days after I finally got a negative HPT. Personally, if you feel up to it, I would chart right away just to help you feel like you might know what's going on, if you ovulate (you might not), etc. Just be warned - temps can be crazy after a m/c as your hormones regulate, so read your chart cautiously.
