First real smile

FTM question, I was just wondering when I should expect LO to start interacting/smiling?

I've been able to get a few gassy smiles but no real smiling or interacting yet. I can get him to look at me occasionally, at least I think he's looking at me, but that's about it. He'll be 4 weeks tomorrow.

Re: First real smile

  • We saw first smiles and recognition around 6 weeks.  It is awesome!

  • DD gave us her first real smile the day before she turned 4 wks. However until about 6 weeks they were very inconsistent and it wasn't until recently that she started smiling constantly.

Same here, but it is VERY intermitent for us. We get one and then no more for a few days, etc.
