I have always had an insuffecient milk supply but was successfully producing at least 2 and a half ounces at each feeding and substantially more at night for about 6 weeks. I drink Mother's Milk tea three times a day, take 9 (nasty) fenugreek pills and drink at least a liter of water in between each feeding. I also get to eat two oatmeal cookies every day
But I am sweating like a man so I bought some clinical strength deoderant. I know this sounds crazy but ever since I started using it, my milk supply has plummeted. I am now getting less than a full ounce at some feedings! We have always supplemented with formula but I really want to ge my supply back up. Has anyone else experienced something like this?
Re: Milk Supply and Deoderant?
First of all Kudos to you on actually finding time to put on deodorant!
The only thing I can think that would be in deodorant that could cause any problems would be the aluminum, not that it would be in your milk and cause harm to baby, but that some people react differently to different things. I would first try another, maybe less potent or even a natural (Tom's of Maine) deodorant.
Good luck and keep up the good work
