I've always just given teething rings from the fridge because the instructions on the ones I've gotten say "Do Not Freeze". If I needed something frozen, I put a damp washcloth in the freezer for a bit and let DD chew on that.
When DD gets older, I will start giving her frozen peas to eat when she has teething pain. It worked wonderfully for DS, and it was another way to get some veggies into him.

A frozen teether is not recommended because it can shock the skin and gums. It is recommended to put them in the fridge or just stick them in the freezer for a few minutes before giving to baby.
