First-trimester screening results are in...

I had my NT scan done last Thursday and measured 2.1 mm, which is good but not spectacular. Now the bloodwork has come back...drum roll please...

  • My risk of Down's before the screening: 1 in 54 (gulp!) 
  • My risk of Down's AFTER the screening: 1 in 474!!!! (Risk of a 34 year-old)
  • My risk of trisomies 13&18 before the screening: 1 in 99
  • My risk of trisomies 13&18 AFTER the screening: 1 in 1,961!! (Risk of a 28 year-old)

I am so happy it cannot be textually rendered!! I immediately picked up the phone to call my parents and they celebrated with me. I still have my MT21 test results coming back next week but now I feel VERY confident that I will be negative for all three trisomies--and I will know the sex of the baby!

*floats away on a cloud of ecstatic relief*
