8 weeks pregnant --- constipation stopped - a little worried

Hi Everyone,

I'm 8 weeks pregnant.  Ever since I found out about our pregnancy 4 weeks ago, I've been experiencing constipation.  For some reason, since yesterday my bowels have been moving regularly and my stools are back to normal.  I've had two bowel movements back to back.

I'm a little concerned about this sudden change.  I've called my doctor and I've been told not to worry -- but I can't help it.

 What do you guys think?

  • I know it's hard, but don't worry. These wonderful pregnancy symptoms will change all the time with your hormones constantly shifting and new things happening developmentally. It's all just part of the wonderful roller coaster you'll be riding for the next 7 months. You will feel better after you get out of the 1st trimester and 100% better once you can feel the baby move. Constant reassurance.....until they sleep too much one day and freak you out again. Welcome to motherhood! :)

  • Absolutely echoing what the other ladies have said!  You will be amazed with all the changes your body goes through in the next few months.  Here are some other completely normal things that can happen: bleeding gums, carpal tunnel, hemorrhoids, heartburn, just to name a few.  Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy, try not to stress too much!

  • Ditto the others.  I'm sure you haven't seen the last of this fun pregnancy symptom and it's totally normal for symptoms to come and go.  I know it's hard not to worry and agree that you'll feel better when you get further along and can feel the baby move and feel more pregnant all over.  Try not to think about it.  I know, so much easier said than done.

  • Oh yeah, you could be totally constipated again by next week! It all goes back and forth and changes constantly. I know it's hard not to worry; I'm a worrier myself, but I have personally experienced this and still am at 17 weeks pregannt.
