Pregnant after 35

anyone else not growing upstairs?

It seems that most people are complaining that they need new bras.  I started at a 32 DDD and have not gone up in size at all.  I was a D before starting fertility treatments.  When I first got my implants, I was a full C.

I am wondering why I am not growing like the rest of the group and if it means that I will not be able to breastfeed.  The good news is that my belly does stick out futher than my breasts.  I have not been able to look down and see anything but breasts for years.

Re: anyone else not growing upstairs?

  • I have had friends who didn't grow much during their pregnancies and had no problems BFing. I think it's very individual. Maybe yours have nowhere else to go, since they've already gone up two letters since the fertility treatments??

  • I also didn't grow much during my pregnancy with DD, and I'm sure this pregnancy will be the same.  I started as a B cup and I would say I made it as far as a B.5 lol.  I never needed new bras or anything.  I was still able to nurse - we did have trouble but it wasn't because of that.  It was because they didn't let me see DD for 2 days after she was born (let alone nurse her) so my milk never really came in full force - and also, breastfeeding is much, much harder than you would think it would be.

I wouldn't worry - everyone's body is different.  Enjoy the fact that you don't have to spend money on new bras.  Oh and here's something else "they" don't tell you - your boobs might actually be smaller when all is said and done than when you started!  My former B's are now A's so after I stopped nursing DD, I had to buy all new bras for that reason.  :P

  • This is my third pregnancy and my boobs have never grown during pregnancy or breastfeeding (little engorged in the beginning, but that goes away). Always had a great supply AND I never leaked. Yeah, I'm a little smug about all that :)  (But I've got tons of stretchmarks and don't really shed the pounds...so you win some/you lose some!)

  • I'm a 32G and my boobs didn't grow with either pregnancy and I've been able to BF. I had some supply issues the first month with DS1, but my boobs didn't grow even after all my milk came in with him.

Thanks.  I really really hope they get smaller.  I already went to see my plastic surgeon and told him that I got more than I paid for and I need to be smaller when I am done with babies.

  • Mine got really full right away and generously filled my previously lightly filled C cups, but they don't see to be burgeoning over at this point. I really hope it stays that way! No new bras yet, but I did buy a bra back extender at Joanne's fabrics if I start to get bigger around my back and my cup size stays the same. :)
  • Mine got fuller, but I don't need new bras yet, I hope they stay the same for the rest of this journey.
  • I'm the same as PPs.  I only get fuller but still can wear some of my old bras.
