We split an egg for breakfast many mornings--I get the white, he gets the yolk. I scramble the yolk on its own until it is very well cooked. He will eat it on it's own or mashed with something else like avocado. Egg yolk + avocado was SUPER successful yesterday. He loves his morning egg.

That's a really good idea. I only eat the whites anyway so now there won't be any waste.
LOL I don't know? To me hard boiled egg yolk seems so dry... So I can mix it in with fruit? I guess that's a good idea
If you boil the egg correctly it won't be too dry in the middle. Put the eggs in the water and bring to a boil, then turn the burner off, cover the pot, and let it sit for 20 minutes. Then put them into ice water immediately to stop the cooking. The yolks will come out perfect and won't be dry :-) You can keep them in the fridge with the shells on for a week.
I buy pre-boiled eggs from the grocery store and cut the white off and put it in a salad for myself then give her the middle. At Publix they sell them next to the regular eggs. Eggland's best has them for example. Maybe that's lazy though and I should be cooking the eggs, lol.
Re: how to give egg yolk?
HARD boil. Why would you give uncooked yolk??
I hard boil the egg, scoop out the yolk and mash it with a fork then mix with whatever food i give her. She likes it with fruit.
We did the same thing.
