Anyone ever go into labor while sick? My DD got a cold a few days ago and now I have it. I am so worried that if I'm still sick when I go into labor, my cold will make it more difficult. But I'm more worried that I'll get my newborn sick. I have a doctor's appt this morning & I'll definitely be asking her, but just curious if you ladies have any experience with this.
Thanks!!
Re: Close to due date & I have a cold (XP PGAL)
Ugh, this totally happened to me except MH and I both had colds when I was 40 weeks pregnant! It was miserable AND I was worried about getting baby sick. The good thing is we were at the tail end of it when I actually went into labor. The other good thing is that nature kind of has this worked out, since baby doesn't really have their own immune system from day 1 if you're breastfeeding they will get your antibodies through your breastmilk meaning their body should be able to fight off the germs that your body has already experienced. Amazing, isn't it?
Hang in there, hopefully you'll have time to get over it before baby makes their arrival! It's just no fun to have to do the labor thing while sick also!

Both DD and I have sinus crud right now. I'm hoping we feel better before this LO makes her appearance but it's not looking promising as we've both been sick over a week and I'm nearing 39wks. I'd say we're probably struggling the most because DD isn't sleeping well (DH just deployed and she's also cutting teeth).
I can't remember if I had a cold with DD but I definitely had a cough. Turns out my best pushes were when I was coughing.
Currently going through our second deployment. Can't wait for Zoe to meet her daddy!
