delivering at MTMC? just curious! i am!

I was going to, but I switched to the Vanderbilt midwife practice because I didn't feel like MTMC was very conducive to a natural birth. When I had asked my OB's NP about various procedures to help me deliver naturally, she either didn't know or seemed apprehensive about my approach. I just didn't feel comfortable that they would help me achieve my goal.

It depends what kind of birth you are wanting. I know someone who went in after her water broke around 8 am and by about 3 or 4 pm they were prepping her for a c-section. I have a feeling the Drs. there at the time wanted to get home for dinner... If you are planning on laboring at home for awhile, possibly with a doula, it might be an okay route to go. Personally, I am going with a home birth for number 2. After having one with my first, I am totally sold... unless there are serious complications, but at this point in time I don't see that being an issue. Good luck!

I had my son at MTMC, and it was wonderful. My OB delivered, and we had been on the same page from the beginning. I don't know as much about natural births, since I was induced, but the staff was really terrific. I would take their tour, and ask as many questions as you can. GL!

I'm delivering at Williamson Medical Clinic in Franklin. I have a couple of friends who have had their babies there and having nothing but wonderful things to say. Also, their birthing rooms are beautiful!

I plan to! I live in Murfreesboro and MTMC is right down the street from my house so I think it would be convenient. Also I am going to see Dr. Mills who is based at MTMC. One of my friends just gave birth there about three months ago and she had nothing but good things to say

I had my daughter there and it was very nice.  I went in on Dec 31, 2011 and I had my daughter at 3:50 AM Jan 1!! They were all very nice and willing to let me do what I wanted (maybe because I just wanted to lay there lol) I opted to not have the epidural and the only thing they said was "Just let us know if you change your mind" They also told me if my labor didnt progress we could talk about pitocin but that wasnt necessary. My nurse was very nice and told me we could do it my way.  They don't have any tubs or anything like that, and they do want you to hooked up to the machines : (. Overall, I loved my labor. Good luck!
