Blood in poop

LO is 3 month old, breastfed and formula fed. Nothing has changed in my diet and we've been using the same formula for over a month. Last night I noticed a little blood in her stools. This morning she had a soiled diaper with no blood but since then has has 2 bloody poopy diapers. The blood is bright red and stringy looking. She doesn't strain or seem like she's in pain when she poops. She's still talking, giggling, and all smiles per usual, too! She is getting over a cold as well. (trying to include as much info as possible ha)

I called her doctor today and have an appointment for the morning but I just thought I would get some possible insight and ask.

Today DS had his 2 month appt. with some shots. His stools all day have been greenish blow outs. He also has possible eczema or possible milk allergy, but everything I read online today told me that blood in poop is a milk or dairy allergy. Good luck!

It probably is a milk intolerance. If he is ff you will need to switch to a dairy and soy free formula- either nutramigen or alimentum. If you are bfing then you must eliminate all dairy and soy from your diet. The elimination could take up to 6 weeks btw.

Either way you should call your pedi to let them know.
