Well I let my principal know today that I would be leaving at the end of this week. Ironically, at the end of last week I had a great appointment and my OB cleared me to work for another four weeks (until the end of the first quarter.....I'm a high-school teacher), but then that night I had mad BH contractions.....was soooo close to going into L&D (probably should have....but I didn't have any other PTL symptoms and they subsided after a few hours. I'll see on Thursday if my cervix length has changed at all....I get ultrasounds every two weeks w/ my MFM). Then I spent the rest of the weekend wiped out...it just seems like my body is telling me very clearly "you're pushing it" so I don't want to ignore that.

Lucky for me, my administrators have been awesome! They are very understanding and are willing to hold my job for me for longer than FMLA leave. Obviously we'll take a bit of a hit financially (I get 6 weeks of paid leave from unused sick days....no STD since it's a private school), but my husband is OK with it (he has been pushing me to quit for awhile!) and I feel like it's the right thing for all four of us. So yeah....it's a surreal feeling thinking of being done this Friday, and I'll miss my students and colleagues, but I'm looking forward to some time to breathe....and to get ready to be a mommy to my little boys!
