Pedi Appt Update

Grant had his appointment today with his new pediatrician.  The guy was real nice and asked me a bunch of questions about Grant.  Grant is up to 15lbs 10oz which is in the 5% (yay!)

He said that we should be doing 4-6 ounces of solids a day, which is 2-4oz more than we have been doing.  He recommended that we give him solids before his bottle, and it was okay if he took less milk because of it.

He has a heart murmur, so we have to get an echo. Also since Grant isn't saying syllable sounds he recommended speech therapy in addition to his physical therapy for his arm (he doesn't reach for anything, ever.)

Therapy is on Wednesday.

    Glad you like your new pedi! It's so important to have someone you trust...it sounds like he has got you on the right path.

    I'm glad he seemed nice! And that Grant's weight is going up! Lucia also doesn't say consonants. Well, she's good at H, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't count, as it's so close to vowel sounds. :) I hope his solids plan helps, and that the speech and physical therapists are helpful!

    So happy to hear that Grant is gaining weight!  And I'm glad you have gone to get a second opinion and this doctor sounds like he will help get him to where he needs to be.

    Keep up updated on his progress!!  Let us know how the therapy goes.

    Yay for the 5th percentile ... that's good improvement!  I'm happy to hear that you like your new pedi as well.  I'm rootin' for you, Grant!

    That's great about his weight. I am sure the therapy will go well, glad the new doctor recommended some things they other may have missed. Keep us updated!

    That's great that Grant has gained well, and that the doctor seems to be much better at giving clear suggestions and more proactive about helping Grant along.  I hope that you're happy with how everything went, and good luck!

    It sounds like this was a good appointment. You have a plan and it seems like the pedi didn't waste any time. Let us know how therapy goes, I am sure Grant is going to do awesome. :) Thinking of him and you of course.

    You got all of that out of the first appointment? Sounds like you found a good doctor. Hooray for the weigh gain, that's great!

    So very glad Grant has gained some weight and that you have a good plan in place!  A good pediatrician makes all the difference in the world!

     Good job, mama!  Way to take control and advocate for your little guy :)
