Bedsharing with DS#1 + Newborn after CS?

Am I delusional to think this is going to work? I'm planning to have the side crib for DD#2 but our son who's 3 1/2 usually comes to our bed at some point during the night and sleeps in between DH and I. He moves a lot so I'm more concerned about my incision not healing properly from all the bed action. I really don't want to transition DS to sleep by himself all night while dealing with a new sibling at the same time. Has anyone done this? Any ideas?

I have no practical experience yet, since we're expecting our first in March, but it seems like transitioning your son to sleeping between your DH and the wall/bed rail or transitioning him to a mattress on the floor in your room might be a good solution?

We're working on transitioning my 13 month old to sleep betweed my H and the bedrail.  Last night was the first night in 13 months that I didn't wake up when he did.  I told my H this morning, "OMG, he didn't wake up at all from 7 to 6am!" and my H said, "no...he did...I put him back to sleep, rubbing his back."  Say what?!  Love it.  Anyway, that's our plan...bedrail, toddler, husband, me, newborn, bedrail.  Good luck!

Is this your 2nd csection then too? I have had 5 now, and the healing seems to get better and quicker with each one. All of my kids have slept im my bed at some point or another, but I was also nervous about how I would heal after my last one was born in Jan. I have a son that is almost 3 now but would never sleep in his bed until more recently, and even if he started off in his bed will still end up in ours.  What I did in the beginning was if he was going to be coming into my bed he had to sleep on the other side of my husband so he would not accidently kick me. It was tricky at first because he was a mamas boy, but he eventually warmed up to the idea of cuddling with dad, and if he did end up crawling over dad near me, I would simply turn on my side away from him. Had to get my DH on board tho to make sure he would actively move my DS to the other side
