Snuza and baby rolling on its tummy

Since the Snuza is usually placed on the belly, what happens when the baby starts rolling over even though you placed the baby on its back?  Is it still safe/comfortable to use the Snuza, or does it hurt the baby during the process of rolling over with the Snuza attached?

Snuza website said that for tummy sleepers it should be put on the sides where you see movement, but my question is for the rollers who is normally a back sleeper wearing Snuza on the tummy.  Im worried about the Snuza hurting the baby/poking the tummy, etc. during the random rollover process that is bound to occur time to time. What do you in that event?

TIA!

Re: Snuza and baby rolling on its tummy

  • Hi Tia, I know I can put the Snuza on my baby's back and she is big enough it is able to detect the movement on the back just fine.  She's 6 months old and weighs about 17 pounds, so she's not really that big.  Just try it and see if the green light flashes when you baby is breathing.  You can also use the audible tick function to hear whether it is detecting movement.  It won't really work if the baby is sleeping directly on the Snuza on their tummy, not only would that be uncomfortable for baby, it squishes the sensor so it can't move and it may cause false alarms.
