I didn't read the article but your siggy pic is hilarious! lolol
ETA: I'm a dumba$$ that is what you're talking about and I think it's in good fun, obviously.
LOL! I was just gonna say something to ya
I don't know that it's bullying per se. I mean, she's young & obviously she's not actually in trouble. It's totally NMS at all, but I think it's one of those things that you think is funny because they're young - like a kid with a beer or something.

I'm chalking it up to baby brain! lol
I think these are the moments that make being a parent funny and interesting. Never in my life did I think I would be scooping poop out of a bathtub or shower, I think the parents were making light of the situation and it's funny. I probably wouldn't post the picture on facebook bur rather keep it for our family and have a laugh when she's older. But our family is kind of like that I guess...
I think taking the picture originally was meant to be humorous, and the family probably could've had a good laugh over it in the future, but posting it on the internet crossed a line.
YEah,I agree. Posting it may not have been the best idea. People may not have got or Agreed with the humor. Im also about to kick my iPad, since it wants to format things it's own way.

I agree, While I think it's funny for something to be kept in the family photo album, I wouldn't have put it online.
Is it bad that I posted it here? It's obviously not mine but it's being plastered all over FB by different radio stations.
Warning
No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml

It's not "bullying". (HOW did that word get so misused all of a sudden???) But humiliating my child is not my idea of good parenting.
This is only funny until the dad follows through.

I think it is funny, but I wouldn't actually put it in the year book. Do you know how many people in DH's senior yearbook have baby pics of them on the potty? They must have thought it was funny too b/c they needed the senior's permission to put it in.
Well, now that's made headline news, I would say this is ridiculous.
This poor girl would probably pay to have it on the cover of her senior yearbook vs plastered all over the Internet for the world to see.
Meh...not a huge deal.
There was a story on the news here where a 1 year old had tape on her mouth I think she was tied up as well. The dad posted it to FB bragging how he "handled her mouth" or whatever. THAT is what people need to get worked up about. Not the above photo.
This is not bullying. I wouldn't take that type of photo, but I don't think it's that bad. I do think posting it on web wasn't a good idea. I'm sure that little girl will love this being rehashed when she is older.

Um what?
What I mean is that the man in Chicago that put a picture of his baby on FB and bragged about it (being tied up)? Disgusting. I don't have the link, but it's probably not hard to find online. It was on our local news for days.
A picture like the one that OP posted is not a big deal to me. She is smiling, dressed and they will laugh. Would I have posted it on the internet? No, because I don't have FB and feel exposed with posting pics online (see lack of siggy pic).
Oh I'm sorry, my comment was more , "UM, WTF?" To the dad...
Yeah, I agree with you. His post was much more out of line and NOT funny.
This is not funny to me. In the same way my BIL and son can die laughing about a fart ap. it's just not funny...
I kind of find it funny. It was meant as a joke. I don't see what the big deal is. Also, just about every parent shares things on the Internet these days. They probably thought it was joke. Meh.
My parents have embarrassing photos of me that they like to bring out every few years. Like one of me about 1 or 2 standing on a table with dollar bills out of my diaper was a joke, not a serious thing. So I dunno.
I see it as NBD. It's not my style, but I'm not offended by it. The little girl is smiling and looks well taken care of, so it doesn't set off red flags for me. (Yes, I know that you can't tell everything from a pic.. but what I mean is that she doesn't look upset at all.)
It's not "bullying". (HOW did that word get so misused all of a sudden???) But humiliating my child is not my idea of good parenting.
Exactly this. I am so tired of the word "bullying" but I really really do not like this. Putting something like that on the internet is so screwed up in my opinion. Right now she doesn't know the consequences of having something like this online. But when she is older she may be made fun of over this picture if someone finds it.
ETA: The difference between showing it to friends in an album is that friends will not leave with a copy of it, and only a small group of people will have it. Right now the entire world has access to this picture. And FTR I wouldn't show this to my kids friends either.
I don't know that it's bullying, but I can see the kid being upset and horrified in a few more years when she really understands. Honestly, this would never, ever occur to me to do this. I never deliberately try to make my kid cry....
The girl looks like she's enjoying being part of a family joke. If it were mean-spirited and the girl was sad, I'd feel differently, but I'm sure there were many laughs together when this photo was taken, and I'm going to guess there will be many more.
Stay at home mom to a house of boys: two amazing stepsons, 12 and 9, and our 4 year old.

Then what about all the memes out there with children in it? Like Success Kid or Skeptical Baby? Those kids will forever have those going around. I have embarrassing photos that have plastered all over every company my Dad has worked for as a marketing thing. I went from a naked baby centerfold for Aldus to the Mr. Sid Baby to being put on posters. Do I care that most of the imposition/graphics industry has seen my naked baby photo? Nope. I don't see this as bad as being a meme.
I thought it was awesome. My family has this type of humor and if a picture like this was taken of me and posted on the internet it would be no big deal, you grow up with this type of humor its normal to you.
I did take a picture of my son holding a sign that said "farewell terrible twos!" the night before his 3rd birthday...

All of this.
Meh.
Not my style, because of the play on the dogshaming site, but I give them a break. Heck, I have a FB album of the Honey Badger's crimes.

It is hilarious.
And I'm side-eyeing the people in this post who think this is bullying or humiliating the child or "not good parenting".
