I haven't been around much lately and I'm missing my bump mamas and the great source for advice!
What are your Dec LO's naps like now? Jack has been waking up regularly at 7am, going down for a nap at 10am and sleeping for 2-3 hours for months now. But in the past week he's had 3 days where he just was NOT tired and didn't nap all day. Today was one of those days, and I'm exhausted. (I know, you mamas with new LO's are rolling your eyes at me. lol)
It seems like a lot of activities for toddlers in my area are in the morning when J is usually napping, which makes me wonder if most toddlers are napping in the afternoon. Is it time to switch him to an afternoon nap instead? What do you do?
Re: What are naps like these days?
V *just started having just 1 nap per day, so I think we might be different.
She normally wakes around 9am (sometimes later). I feed her lunch around 11:30-12, and try to really fill her before I give her some milk and then nap before 1ish. She usually sleeps 2 1/2-3 hours.
Most toddlers I know seem to take one long nap right after lunch.
We just started pushing his nap. He used to go down right at 11 but his nap started getting shorter and I felt like there was too much awake time before bed.
Us exactly too, except napping more than an hour and a half at home rarely happens. She's always slept better at daycare.
R is a great napper and has been in a routine for a while, he hasn't had a morning nap since about a year old. He's up between 7-8am, then naps from 1-4ish. The kid takes after his parents and LOVES to sleep! LOL
Wake up: 7:30am
Nap: 11:00-3:30/4 pm
Bedtime: 8pm

During the week DD wakes up at 7:15, has lunch at 11 and nap time starts at 11:30.
At home on the weekends DD usually wakes up at 8, we have lunch at 11:30 and I put her down for her nap around 12. (I would keep her DC schedule, but Caillou is on from 11-12 and she KNOWS this. I don't know how she tells time, but she KNOWS. And mommy CAN NOT interfere with Caillou time. She can eat while watching, but no nap can be attempted until Caillou is over. )
Typically she sleeps from 2-3 hours.

She naps noon to 3-3:30 on the weekends and usually plays quietly in her crib until 4. It seems like she really needs the nap and the quiet time after a week at daycare.
At daycare I'm lucky if she naps 1.5 hours and she is a cranky beast all night.

S wakes sometime between 5:30-6:15. He naps at about 12:30 or 1 for an hour or 1.5 tops, and goes to bed between 7:30 and 8 PM.
I am so jealous of the long nappers and late sleepers!
First of all.. Im also jealous of these four hour naps people are getting! That's wild!
Second... Im sure youve tried by now but does putting him to bed a tiny bit earlier help him sleep later?
6:15 seems normal.. But 5:30?? That's what o does when he's overtired. Of course I guess some children are just earlybirds.
Nate goes to nap around 11:30 (I think they do 12:00 at daycare) and sleeps about an hour. Every once in awhile we have "No Nap Nate" day, which was common when he was tiny and the nickname was born. He usually goes down fine and sleeps well though. I know the days he doesn't sleep well at nap, nights are rough and the days he doesn't sleep well at night, naps are rough. He basically needs an 11-12 hour night and 1 hour nap to function as a human. Naptime and bedtime is sacred around here because of that. I can tell the days he didn't nap at daycare because he'll have a pacifier when I get there and his teacher will have a hagrid look to her.
I can only dream that DS would ever take a 2-3 hr nap!
He wakes at 6 am, naps approx 11:30-12:30 & goes to sleep at 7:30-7:45 PM.
It's frustrating b/c I know he's tired at that time b/c if he doesn't nap he will be falling asleep in his booster seat eating lunch. But yet, if I wait till after lunch to nap him, he still doesn't sleep any longer than an hour.
Sometimes he only naps like 45 min!
If my MIL is watching him, sometimes she can get him to take another hour long nap in the afternoon, but I don't let him sleep past 4 PM or else he'll be wired at bedtime.
Naps are still pretty regular at our house luckily. He wakes up between 6:30-7:30 and goes down for a nap around 12:30 after lunch and sleeps for a good 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
Sleeping through the night however? That is a whole different story
