Mine is I hate Winnie The Pooh. And whenever I hear someone is decorating their nursery in Winnie The Pooh, I side eye them (in real life, not on here). I also hated when anyone gave DD anything Pooh related. I'll admit it got put in the back of the closet and she never wore. I'd give it away with the tags still on it. Luckily, she has shown no interest in Pooh.

I HATE Winnie The Pooh and all cartoon characters in general. I'm glad to be having a boy so we can avoid the Disney princesses.
I roll my eyes everyone posts along the lines of "I'm scared, I have XYZ symptoms, what do you think is wrong?" Call your freaking healthcare provider, not a bunch of strangers on the internet. Your doctor is the only one who is going to be able to tell you for sure whether anything is wrong or not

ME TOO!!! I actually can't stand any disney stuff. DH doesn't get my "hate" for it but I think it looks so cheap and tacky! Glad I'm not the only one that avoids Disney (and other licensed) stuff.

This to me is like those people who smoke while pregnant and say "See! My first kid was fine, I can smoke as much as I want while pregnant." Just because you got lucky once, doesn't mean you'll always be lucky. No flamage, I just don't get putting your kid at risk when it's a proven risk. Not like lunch meat or cantaloupe, but like a scientific fact that it raises the risks of SIDS. I know you can't spend your life hiding from anything that could potentially be harmful, but it seems like a good amount of common sense would point you in the direction of not doing things that are known to be harmful. But then again I side-eye smokers and people who eat at McDonald's.

I don't like it when people (specifically on the bump) state that the most expensive baby items are the best. The thing that really bugs me is strollers. Anyone that states that a $300-$500 stroller is the absolute best and the only way to go, obviously has a lot of money and has never used a basic stroller. I love my Graco stroller. It gets the job done and I've had no issues with it, I can't imagine spending $300-$500 on a McClaren or BOB stroller.
Now things like breast pumps, the more expensive ones truly do a better job and is something to not skimp on because it could mean the difference of making BFing work or not.

My DH is the same way... DD wants to be Cinderella for Halloween and it is KILLING me. I am trying to find the least tacky costume I cant, and it's impossible. She was Minnie Mouse last year, but her costume was super cute and it was from ETSY. For some reason Minnie doesn't bother me, the princesses and all the other characters I can't stand.
There is nothing worse the seeing a grown woman with a Disney character sweatshirt or a liscence plate. (Sorry if I am offending anyone!)

Have you checked out Pinterest? I saw some cute "tutu" inspired princess costumes. I can't remember if there was a Cinderella. Lemme look and I'll edit if I find it.

I'll agree to this. Most things out there (IE Cribs) have specific guidelines and standards they have to meet. I love our cribs, and we paid under $100 for each of them, rather than $600 for one.
I will say this though. After playing around with so many double strollers - I really do want the City Mini Select GT (double). Am I really going to pay $500 for it. No way in hell. I have my Combi that I paid 1/5 the price for and I'm sure it is going to work just fine. Will I turn it down as a gift/or on a great sale? No.
I'm with everybody on the whole liscensed characters thing--DD inherited a very light pink Bambi (ewgh) "snowsuit"-type thing (it's thick and warm, so obviously for outside in winter, but it's plush on the outside so obv. not for snow...not sure what that's called) and while I'm excited about its functionality...the Bambi and the pink really make me want to hurl. She also got Tinkerbelle and Sleeping Beauty pajamas.
My UO: I don't think that any kid NEEDS his/her own room. I'm introverted so I understand that everyone needs their space, but the fact is that everyone also needs to learn to find "their" space wherever they are. In fact, I think it contributes to the general attitude of entitlement that I see in many kids these days (friends', coworkers', my own step-kids), and at times the ability to communicate well especially in awkward situations. To each his own, obviously, but I wish our society didn't see it as such a necessity.

I completely agree!! We have a 3 bedroom house and we are thinking we can have 4 kids in there before we move. I find it hilarious when people in a 2 bedroom house get pregnant with LO #1 and start panicing that they have to buy a bigger house- what!?!?

totally. Of course I WANT the Cadillac of strollers, but I'm not going to pay that much for something you are only going to use for a few years and when another stroller can do exactly the same thing.

I hate this! I watch a lot of house shows and I get so annoyed with people who have like 2000 sq ft and like 2 kids and are like "we don't have enough space for our kids to play". I'm like ya right! You have LOTS of space!!

For some reason though, Pooh themed nurseries are just weird to me and I dont like them. Oh and I love the Disney princesses!

My UO is I have no desire to have sex anytime soon. Now this may not be a UO for y'all but it certainly is one for my hubby.
I'm the opposite. I really really want to, but I'm too effing tired to do anything about the raging hormones.
This is me too (the want to but too tired part). I'm thinking of putting it on my husbands calendar to do when we get home tonight so he doesn't get all involved with making dinner before I get home. Once I get all comfy on the couch, it's all over. Is that sad?

Nope it's honest! And I agree.
My UO is that I can't stand all the sports stuff for little boys. I'm having a boy and while, yes, it'd be nice if he was into sports what if he's not? What if he's not athletically inclined? I certainly am not! And it's pretty cliche. It just is a little frustrating to do a boy's nursery because everything is usually sport or jungle theme and I don't like either!

Thank you! I have such a frustrating drive home too (sit on 440 forever, then finally get on 40 and sit there forever, ugh). I think I will schedule it
Apparently the popular opinion is to hate Winnie the Pooh :P
For me, it is sentimental. It is what I grew up really liking as a kid. Others may not like it, and I am totally okay with that. To each their own.
I like classic Winnie the Pooh...although I wouldn't decorate my nursery Pooh themed. My mom bought LO a classic piglet stuffed animal from Yankee Candle Factory store that I just love.

You could just not have a "theme" maybe find an awesome pattern or color combo and use that to decorate the nursery. If I ever have a boy that's what I plan to do.

Well I was thinking of doing Harry Potter because I'm a huge nerd but it kind of turned into an owl/forest friends theme since HP specific stuff was hard to find. It's still hard to try and make it not girly since a lot of owl stuff is pink/sparkly.
And I agree about the clothes! My husband and I have yet to buy any clothing sports related. I think I have one monkey thing...because it's really cute otherwise I don't really dig monkeys for little boys either.

UO: I love Winnie the Pooh.
Apparently the popular opinion is to hate Winnie the Pooh :P
For me, it is sentimental. It is what I grew up really liking as a kid. Others may not like it, and I am totally okay with that. To each their own.
i like the cartoon Winnie the Pooh, just not decorating a nursery with it.

I'm the opposite. I really really want to, but I'm too effing tired to do anything about the raging hormones.
I think that qualifies a lot of nurseries I have seen people post. Not just Pooh themed ones.
Have you checked out Pinterest? I saw some cute "tutu" inspired princess costumes. I can't remember if there was a Cinderella. Lemme look and I'll edit if I find it.
Edit: Here are some- https://pinterest.com/search/?q=tutu+costume
Lots of different ideas for something so she can still feel like a princess but you can make it so you make it as frilly or uncheesy as you want
Agreed. I didn't say otherwise. Was just agreeing with mrsodonnell12 with not liking Winnie the Pooh themed nurseries.

You have LOTS of space!!

i guess my uo is i love disney....dh and i just spent a week there....bought lo it's first pair of mickey ears....registered for finding nemo bedding and some other random disney related baby items...
i have no problem with licensed characters....i'm sure when it's born we'll get it either some princess/girlie disney clothes or mickey or marvel clothes....esp super hero stuff...dh is a comic book nerd
I love Disney as well.... and when I am actually at Disneyland- I am ALL for the Mickey gear- but not outside of Disneyland! Carter has tons of Disney stuffed animals- they are great! For some reason though, Pooh themed nurseries are just weird to me and I dont like them. Oh and I love the Disney princesses!
I love Disney too!! And I totally plan on having my little girl be a princess if she wants to. I registered for a mini chandelier from Ikea for the nursery! The only reason I didn't ask for a Disney related nursery is cuz it was too expensive! lol

I have been searching Craiglist in every town in a 2 hour radius of ours for one of these! I am obsessed with it, but will not pay that price!
Tell me about it! What happens when the kid goes off to camp or college?

I felt the same way when I had DS. I just feel like there are hardly an options!
Thank you! I have such a frustrating drive home too (sit on 440 forever, then finally get on 40 and sit there forever, ugh). I think I will schedule it

I could not agree more. My IL's are very into Pooh and it drives me crazy. My first Christmas with them included pooh gift wrap, pooh gift bags and Pooh themed presents were given to MIL and SIL. I seriously wanted to gag.
That is what I did for DS, but the clothing is waht I found to be an issue. Everything has sports stuff on it. I love sports and I hope Carter loves sports, but seriously, does every shirt and onesie NEED to have a baseball basketball soccer ball ect on it? BLAH!
I know exactly what mini chandelier your are talking about from Ikea! I love that one! In fact I'm planning a trip there this weekend! I totally love chandeliers or blingy light fixtures in a baby girl nursery.
