Babies: 3 - 6 Months

What's your daily routine

My LO is 3 months (next week) and I am struggling to establish a good routine. (Knowing I have to be willing to be flexible).

What is your daily routine (eat, play, sleep times?).  Also, I'm having a hard time keeping her awake long enough to play after eating...she's like me eat = sleep! :)  Suggestions?

Thanks!

Re: What's your daily routine

  • I am a SAHM so we don't really have a routine, even when I will be in school next semester we will not have a routine per say with the exception of bed time and nap time for DD. I pretty much let my kids dictate what we do. It has always worked for us.

  • My LO is about 3.5 months and we don't really have a routine per se. DS will take a nap sometime in the am, again in the afternoon, and one or two naps in the evening. He also gets sleepy after eating, but he will usually eat and then fall asleep. I pretty much let him dictate what we do. When he's fully alert we play and walk around, when he gets fussy I feed him and we lay down.

  • LO is almost 11 weeks and we have a pretty well established routine during the day.  He wakes at 7:30 / 8:00, and then we are on a 3 hour cycle for most of the day - eat (half hour), play (45 minutes - 1 hour), nap (1.5 hours - 2 hours).  This works really well until the 8:00 p.m. feeding, and then after that it becomes kind of "off".  Some nights he wants to stay up and play a bit more, and some nights he just falls asleep right away.
  • Thanks! That is similar to what i've been "trying" to establish....so I'm not too far off! :)

  • I only have the bed time routine, the rest of the day (when im home) I go by his cues. So I let him decide how our day is going to go, and I just do what he wants. And atm I wish he would be super sleepy after eating, his naps are becoming short and very spread out!

  • Yeah, like most of the PPs, it's whatever Lucy is up to doing.  She eats when she gets up, plays, then catches a nap somewhere between 1030-1230.  On Monday's we attend a Baby Moves class, so I try to time her naps and eating, so she is fully engaged.  The same if we are attending a Mommy meet up group.
