My CPMs do not do u/s or testing. The only testing they do is urine at every appt (test for 5-6 things there) and iron counts.
I used the same MWs with the last birth and didn't work with an outside OB/GYN. Everyone has different comfort levels. If you don't feel comfortable skipping the testing, I would continue seeing the OB.

It's not so much that I want ALL the testing, but I would like some of it. Plus, I don't want to miss out on u/s. I feel like if I didn't have them, I would be very sad.
The group of MW I'm working with says that some women continue to see their OBGYN into their pregnancy and have the testing and u/s done, but still see them concurrently and have a home birth. I'm thinking maybe I'll do this since my insurance covers the OBGYN
A CPM doesn't have the training to do an ultrasound or NT scan, which is what I assume you mean when you say "prenatal testing." Even many OBs will refer you to a maternal fetal medicine specialist for advanced testing. So, yes, it's normal. And if your CPM doesn't have clinical affiliations with a medical center, you may need to see an OB to get an ultrasound referral.

My CNM who will be my HB MW, works closely with an OB. He is the one who wrote my script for an US at a free standing US company. The radiologist there took a look at my US results and referred back to my MW to go over the results with me. My MW was ok with me skipping the AS, but I felt more comfortable getting one done- now I know that baby is healthy and growing and I don't have to worry about placenta previa or anything!

My CPM did not to u/s. The only testing she did was my blood tests. My Ob does not see home birth patients so I did not see her after I made the decision for a home birth.
Depending on where you are, some OBs will not see you after you disclose you are pursuing a HB.
However, there may be some in your area that do backup care or your MW may have suggestions.
My midwife only does urine tests and I see the only OB in our city that will see HB patients for all my other tests and the u/s. I will only see the OB about 6 times total.
"Elsie Irene was born sleeping at 35w 6d on December 8, 2012. Mommy and Daddy miss you sweet girl."
My midwife does all the blood draws and urine tests in her office. For the ultrasound she refers to somewhere else. If I were to want/need an amnio or anything like that, she would need to refer me or else I would need to find someone to do it.
