It was a ton of fun but I would absolutely not recomend the place we went to (Skydive great lakes, in Indiana). We went there because we had a groupon for 2 jumps and pics for $350 (which was about half price to do it somewhere around where we live; we went 2 1/2 hours away).
We had our time of 4pm, I called before we left to make sure things were running fine and to check the weather there. They made no mention of any problems. We didn't jump until after 7pm.
I didn't get my pictures until 5 1/2 weeks after the jump. My sister got her's 3 weeks before I did. I called every week after 2 weeks, because they said one week. When I would call they would tell me they were ready to go out. For four weeks they were allegedly just sitting there. But the date my dvd of pics was burned was after the first time I called. So they lied.
I contacted groupon and explained the issue with the pics (because that was part of the groupon) and the skydive place was supposed to get in touch with me, but they never did. I did get the pictures, but that doesn't mean I'm happy about the service there.
I'd jump again for sure, just not at that place.
I googled the place afterwards and on yelp the reviews said the same thing, major delays for everyone. Some people waited hours only to be told they couldn't go.
This place didn't have indoor seating to wait, only picnic tables in the soon, only had port-a-potties, and it was in the middle of nowhere so there was nothing to do in the waiting time.

Wow! Sorry they treated you so bad. At least it was a great experience over all though. It's one of those BA things you get to say you did. Like "I've rode around in a hot air ballon."

That would be scary. I'll take jumping out of a plane over that. At least with that I have a parachute.
