Indigo Stroller?

There's an amazing deal on the Lamaze Indigo Stroller in Canada that I'm thinking of taking advantage of.  I believe that this stroller is also called The First Years Stroller.

So far, I've seen lots of mixed reviews on this stroller, mainly due to the wheels.  I wondered if anyone here has experience with the stroller.

My thoughts with respect to the problems with the wheels, is that it comes with 1 year warranty, and I could imagine if I got one of these lemons, the company would be willing to make things right.

Re: Indigo Stroller?

  • The reviews look pretty poor, and just by watching the baby gizmo video review there were enough negatives that I would steer clear from it!  It looks cheaply made, the wheels are tiny and will not get you through any snow or slush in the winter, the seat is wobly, the seat back is not very tall.  One year warranty is pretty lame when there are companies like Baby Jogger who stand behind their products with lifetime warranties.

  • We played with it in the store and it didn't turn very well and the wheels squeaked.

Agreed. My mom bought a First Years as "her" stroller. It's right up there for me with the Graco strollers, big thumbs down. The wheels went on hers (cracked and broke off in the cold) - it may have had a one year warranty, but they didn't replace them. She threw it out and borrowed mine when she needed it.

ETA: Thought about other strollers. Have a look at the Mamas & Papas Cruise. It's the "umbrella" style you're looking for, but a well made one. It's also suitable from birth - full recline. Or, take a look at the Phil and Ted's Smart with the Peanut bassinet add on. That may also work, and the wheels can make it through slushy snow.
