Stomach itching

My stomach has been itching terribly these past few days. I know its normal because the skin is stretching but doesn't it seem a bit early for my stomach to be constantly itching?

I've been putting a thick lotion on which isn't really doing anything. Any STMs have advice/remedies? TIA

Re: Stomach itching

  • Is it just on your belly area? If so, it's very normal, and it's annoying. I used Bio Oil last time, twice a day. Now, I'm using regular lotion. Even with the lotion, it still itches, but it def helps

  • I was really itchy a few weeks ago. Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil is great but takes a little while to soak in (so don't put it on right before you dress or you might end up with oil marks). I also have used coconut oil after I shower - that worked well too.
  • I've been a little itch so I don't think its to early. For me, I can tell I went through a growth spurt last week so I think there has been some stretching going on. We are also entering fall here and its the time of year where you start to dry out and need to lotion just to stay moisturized.
  • Yep, I've got lots of tummy itching, and my skin is a lot drier in that area.

Regular lotion doesn't seem to do anything for me, nor does baby oil after I shower. I have some Body Shop coca butter stuff I'm going to try.

  • I was really itchy 2-3 weeks ago, before my tummy really popped.  You must be growing!

  • I have had aweful dry skin for the past few weeks along with the itchy belly from stretching.  I have been using lotion 2-3 times per day just to keep my skin hydrated.  I am not looking forward to turning on the heat in a a few short weeks, that will dry my skin out even more.

  • I had PUPPs last time and it was AWFUL so I feel your pain! The only thing that really worked for me was putting ice/a cold pack on he itchy area.

  • Yep, my tummy and my boobs are itchy. I was prepared for my tummy to get big...but not my boobs so much!

I've been using Palmer's cocoa butter which is fairly rich and seems to help some.
