Bruised belly button

I remember getting the bruiselike coloring around my belly button but this time my belly button hurts so.bad! About 23inch around my belly button it feels like someone is constantly pushing on a bruise and touching it is even worse. Totally normal? and if so, what the heck causes it?! Anyway to relieve the pain?!

I have not experienced this, but I have heard of it before. Apparently there is a different type of tissue surrounding the location where our umbilical cords connected and during pregnancy the stretching of that area can become irritated as a result. The feeling can be similar to a bruise and can be a blueish color. Nothing to worry about though. 

I am not a medical doctor, so check it out if it worries you. This is just something I have heard about.

I've had a light bruise-like appearance around my belly button since about 26 weeks. It doesn't hurt yet, though. My good friend had diastasis recti towards the end of her pregnancy. https://www.mayoclinic.com/health/diastasis-recti/AN02153. I'm not sure if that's it, but I know it causes discomfort.

On an unrelated note, OP, I LOVE your dress in your siggy pic! Where did you get it? I am desperate for a dress for a wedding on Sunday.

I am absolutely no help on the belly button thing.. I just wanted to say that you are the cutest thing I've ever seen! I LOVE your outfit in your picture

Thanks ladies : the dress is Old Navy maternity! Its from this summer, not sure if they still carry it!
