Kendall spelling

I really like the name Kendall for a girl, but does this spelling look manly? Does something like Kindell or Kendelle look too made up?

Re: Kendall spelling

  • I like Kendall. If I saw Kindell or Kendelle I would not pronounce them the same as I would for Kendall.

  • If Kendall looks manly, that's because it is traditionally a masculine name. If you want to give it to a girl, own that and don't change the spelling. The others look made up and awful and I would not pronounce them like Kendall. I'd say them like Kindle, and KenDELLE, with the emphasis on the second syllable instead of the first. When spelling changes, so does pronunciation.

  • I am all for correct spelling. Correct spelling wins over ANYTHING. That being said, i know more girls, including ones our ages, named Kendall. Run it, but spell it right.

  • Honestly, the other options look made-up and silly.  Kendall is a great name- spelled correctly.

  • FWIW I grew up with a female Kendall and had no idea it was originally a boy's name until I was an adult.
  • I like Kendall for a girl.

    I like that spelling too.

  • Oh! Just don't spell it "Kindle."
  • Kindell looks like some sort of manufactured product to me not a girls name   Kindelle is pronounced completely different from Kendall        If you want a more feminine name I wouldn't go with Kendall and just keep looking sorry

fwiw whenever I see Kendall   I can't help but think Ken Doll !

  • I like Kendyl
