Weaning/Milestone Status POLL: Pacifiers, Bottles, Swaddles, Walking, Teeth...

I love these discussions about where everyone is with these things, but they are in too many different posts to keep up. What's your status on using/doing these things;

Pacifier -never took one

Bottle - no more bottles

Nursing-  four times a day

Using a sippy cup - straw cup

Using a real cup - can sip out of mine but i usually end up wearing whatever she's drinking. She loves to drink out of plastic water bottles.

Swaddle- always hated being swaddled

Sleeping In Crib - in crib with blankets

Crawling- yes

Standing- yes

Cruising-yes

Walking- yes

Teeth -5

Talking- mama, dada, dog, out (at the dogs), hi, she babbles incoherently nonstop

Pacifier: Gave it up on her own at 5 months, before then it was the only way to stay sane

Bottle: still gets 2 a day, but we are working on converting to sippy cups

Nursing: Wasn't able to due to medications

Using a sippy cup: Uses a straw cup for water and WCM

Using a real cup: Will take sips out of DH's and my cup, but I haven't given her one on her own

Swaddle: About 4 months

Sleeping In Crib: about 4 months

Crawling: 6 months

Standing: 7.5 months

Cruising: 8 months

Walking: 10.5 months

Teeth: 2 at 6 months, 2 at 9 months, working on at least one currently

Talking: She has a lot to say, but none of it is distinguishable as a word except dada and maaaaaa.

Pacifier - We only use this for public fits - like we're trying to pay at Target and can't get out of line.

Bottle - Still having four a day

Nursing - DD has always been ff

Using a sippy cup - She will have a few sips and then pour it upside down for fun

Using a real cup - Nothing yet

Swaddle - Stopped at about 3 months

Sleeping In Crib - Has been since her first night home

Crawling - Yes

Standing - Yes

Cruising - Yes

Walking - Three steps at a time, so not really

Teeth - 5

Talking - 5ish words that we can understand but I don't expect anyone else to

Pacifier -- uses it rarely throughout the day, does use it for her 2 daytime naps

Bottle -- 5 bottles a day! she's being a stinker about eating solids and we haven't introduced any other liquid

Nursing -- that stopped in Janaury

Using a sippy cup -- nope

Using a real cup -- nope

Swaddle -- nope

Sleeping In Crib -- always has!

Crawling -- she's all over the place!

Standing -- oh yes, she loves to pull up on everything

Cruising -- yup, just started last week!!

Walking -- she can walk if we hold both hands

Teeth -- two bottom teeth and those upper ones are almost here

Talking -- just consonants, no words yet

Pacifier - Naptime/Bedtime only unless she's super duper cranky

Bottle - only when I'm at school/work she takes about 6oz formula

Nursing - about 3-4 times a day, 2 if i'm working/at school

Using a sippy cup - with meals she gets about 2 oz of WCM or more water if she wants it

Using a real cup - have tried a few times just giving her sips of my water/milk... she does pretty good but haven't tried giving her one on her own yet, although she likes to "drink" out of her stacking cups in the bath.  

Swaddle - long gone, about 4-5 months

Sleeping In Crib  - Consistently since 5 months, sucks at sleeping in PNP when we're away though  

Crawling - SPEED DEMON! 

Standing - Will pull herself up to stand, and once up will stand on her own, but will not stand on her own without pulling up 

Cruising - loves to hang on to stuff and walk around it, she just got a new walker toy that she can basically run with, but falls as soon as she crashes it into the cupboards or walls. 

Walking - has taken her first steps, but now refuses to walk unless she's hanging on to something.

Teeth - has 3, and 2 more ready to pop through at any moment

Talking - says Mama, Dada, Hi, Up all consistently, today she said "Bamp" for "grampy" according to MIL, but I didn't witness it so I'm doubting it.  She babbles constantly though.

Pacifier - He used a paci until he was 4 months and weaned himself

Bottle - He does not use a bottle, hasnt since 3 months old. He uses a straw sippy and a regular cup

Nursing - still nursing before all naps and before bed and occasionally throughout the day

Using a sippy cup - uses a straw sippy

Using a real cup  - uses a real cup with help and also the Avent training real cup

Swaddle - no swaddle since 5 months old

Sleeping In Crib - has never slept in his crib. he tried everything. does not work. he sleeps on a twin size floor bed for naps and the 1st part of the night then comes in bed with us

Crawling - crawled at 7 months

Standing - stand at 8 months

Cruising - cruise at 8 months

Walking - walked at 10 months 1 day and now he runs

Teeth - almost 8 teeth and i swear he is working on molars 

Talking - says mom, dad, up, lala and babbles many different sounds. he points up and grunts when there is a plane, points and the kittys and makes noise etc... oh he also waves hello and goodbye to everyone and everything by himself and when i ask him to say bye bye or say hi.

Bottle - 1 a day

Nursing - trying to wean now, but nursing about 4 times a day. No overnight

Using a sippy cup - Everyday,  He loves his water and has it available all day. He will only use the straw ones now.

Using a real cup - No...

Swaddle - Never really swaddled, besides the hospital.

Sleeping In Crib - Since about 4 months

Crawling - Started around 6.5 months, doesn't crawl too much anymore

Standing - Yep

Cruising - Yep

Walking - Oh ya, and running!!

Teeth - Two bottom middle since about 6 months and the top middle two just broke through

Talking - Lots of babbles and will say mama, dada, and bye bye, sometimes, not too often though.

Pacifier: Done at about 7months

Bottle: Never took a bottle

Nursing: Day time weaning now, going to work on nighttime next week

Using a sippy cup: Has used a straw sippy since about 7.5 months

Using a real cup: Still a lot of spillage but she can do it

Swaddle: We stopped swaddling at about 2months. She's a blanket kicker.

Sleeping In Crib: Well, she does but she wakes up, nurses and gets put back in her crib.

Crawling. I don't remember exactly when she started crawling. A little before 8months I believe.

Standing: I can't remember a time when she hasn't been standing. It has always been her preference.

Cruising: Cruising a couple of weeks after crawling

Walking: Took her first steps at 9months 26days. She's a walking/running pro.

Teeth: Still only 2

Talking: Her vocabulary has exploded within the past 2 weeks. She tries to copy most words we say and says a handful by herself. Her signing is getting less as her verbal vocabulary increases.

Bottle: yep

Nursing: quit me at 9 months

Using a sippy cup: He can use a straw cup great, others so so. He just gets water in them.

Using a real cup: Just now and then I'll give him sips of my water. He can't do it himself, but we also don't own any plastic cups so I don't let him hold glass.

Swaddle: Not since five months

Sleeping In Crib: since six weeks

Crawling: 7 months

Standing: yep, and just learned a couple of weeks ago how to stand up without pulling up.

Cruising: everywhere

Walking: Since 10 months

Teeth: four fully in, another bottom one just broke through and I think more on the way.

Talking:He makes noises associated with particular things, but I wouldn't call them words.

Bottle - still working on transitioning to sippy

Nursing - these are the final days

Using a sippy cup - at meal times

Using a real cup - likes to drink from our cups

Swaddle - not since 3.5 mos

Sleeping In Crib - since 3.5 mos

Crawling - never crawled

Standing - 10 months

Cruising - 11 months

Walking - 1 week before his first birthday

Teeth - six

Talking - mama, dada, mum (food), dog

Pacifier - He's an addict. . . .mainly only uses at naptime and bedtime, but sleeps with one in his mouth and one in each hand.

Bottle - ~4/day but not consistent, prefers BM

Nursing - only at night and in morning

Using a sippy cup - getting better

Using a real cup - LOVES using a 'big kid cup', but only allowed with LOTS of help and looks like a character from 'hungry hungry hippos' when he tries to drink from one

Swaddle - haven't since he was 3 mos

Sleeping In Crib - since 1 month

Crawling - has been for about 5 months

Standing - not without holding on to something

Cruising - ALL OVER the place

Walking - Almost, but not quite there yet

Teeth - front 2 on bottom and a 3rd bottom tooth coming in

Talking - Babbles non stop, says Uh Oh and Mama and Moo and Bah Bah (Bye Bye) but usually not associated to anything specific or if he is mimicking someone

Pacifier -refused it after 3 months

Bottle- still gets 3 a day sent to daycare...and still won't hold it herself 

Nursing- in the morning and at night during the week, all day on the weekends

Using a sippy cup- straw sippy since 7 months

Using a real cup- still needs practice

Swaddle- stopped around 3 months

Sleeping In Crib- around 5 months

Crawling- still not! just started to get on her knees

Standing- since around 9 months

Cruising- 10.5 months

Walking- not yet

Teeth- bottom two and top fang teeth.....she's a vampire  

Talking- hi, book, dada, bye.....she does sign language for all done, more, milk

Sleeping In Crib - since 6 months when she outgrew the bassinet

Crawling- insanely fast

Standing - yes

Cruising - yes

Walking - 4 or 5 steps at a time

Teeth - 3 two front middle and 1 top off to the side

Talking - babbles a lot, but says mama, dada, and kitty.  She also says 'baa' everytime she sees the cat.

Pacifier Never. We wouldn't want DS to have nipple confusion.

Bottle Bottles are for babies

Nursing Ew gross.

Using a sippy cup We are way past this

Using a real cup DS has been using a real cup since 9 months.

Swaddle We have never swaddled. We think it makes boys sissies.

Sleeping In Crib Duh

Crawling Since 3.5 months

Standing Since 4 months

Cruising Since 5 months

Walking Since 6.5 months

Teeth 7

Talking Of course. He said his first words at 7 months and has been speaking in full sentences since 8 months

Bottle - never had one

Nursing- still nursing

Using a sippy cup- she uses straw cups or a camelbak, she doesn't get that she needs to tilt her heat back with sippies.

Using a real cup - never tried

Swaddle- 4 or 5 months (can't remember)

Sleeping In Crib - always for naps, then bedtime at 2 months

Crawling- 8 months

Standing- 8 months

Cruising- 11 months

Walking- not yet, thank goodness

Teeth - first tooth at 11 months, working on her second right now

Talking- Mama, Dada, Bubba, Baba (baby), up, pop, uh-oh, hi, bye, etc.
