Do you/How do you sterilize Sophie?

I know that you should sterilize pacifiers before first use and every once in a while, but what about Sophie the Giraffe? If you sterilize her, how do you sterilize before first use and subsequent uses?  She is made of natural rubber so Im wondering if this is safe to boil or not... I really have no idea how to sterilize rubber.  TIA.

  • I was just going to wipe her down..now I'm curious as to what other people do...

  • I just washed her with hot soapy water. The squeaker always stops working for a bit when you do this but it comes back (yay). Other than that I rinse it off or use a pacifier wipe to clean it.

I put everything in the dishwasher for a cycle.

Do you put it through the sterilize cycle, or just the normal cycle? Does the heat from dishwasher damage or discolor it? Thank you.

The packaging says not to sterilize. So I just wash it with soap and hot water.

I wondered what the packaging had to say about it. My mom took it out of the original packaging so she could make more room in the box of things she mailed me, so I didnt see what the package said.  Thanks!
