New to States....need help regarding pregnancy

hi all...

I moved to Philly recently, near Radnor......I am very much new to this country...

we are planning to have a baby....in the previous blood test (done in India)  it shows some abnormalities in my thyroid level and my gyn there in India  asked me to consult a endocrinologist to get make my thyroid normal...but unfortunately I couldnot meet any endocrine docs there as we have to move to the states.....so now I wish to have my preconception check up done here so that they can guide me properly with my case.....My confusion is whether I should meet a gync or a physician for this ......or directly shud i meet an endocrine??????

Please suggest a good doctor for this near Radnor area......

Thanks.....annav246

Wow, that's quite a move! I would go to a regular doc and not a gyn, since you aren't pregnant. I have no doctor recs in your area, but good luck.

Not knowing what your insurance/employment situation is I second the advice for a regular doctor.  If you have health insurance, you might need a referal to go to an endocrinologist, as it's a specialist.  Good luck!

    Welcome!

i recommend starting with a good general practitioner/internist. You are in a great spot, all of my drs are at penn medicine in Radnor. They really are the best and I highly recommend them.
