I am going to visit a friend soon and she just recently told me she saved everything from her LO that they can't use anymore and they are giving it to us. I am beyond honored and grateful and want to get her a gift in return. I would love to get her a gift card or a gift for her LO. What do you think. I know she is starting to walk. Is there something we can get her or do you think a gift card would be better?
I know I don't have to get her anything but I want to. Also I thought about getting a gift card to the movies and dinner for her and her husband but I know that would involve a babysitter. So I'm thinking that wouldn't be a great idea.
Any ideas ladies?
Re: What to get my friend that has a 10 month old...
I would absolutely do the bolded. They can figure out the babysitter situation, but you giving them a night out will give them an excuse to get out and spend time as a couple and that's what we all would like right about now. :-)
When I was pregnant random coworkers used to dump baby things in my office since I was having a girl, and their wives said "get this sh!t out of the house". I acquired two PNP's, multiple tummy time mats, clothes for over a year in every season, baby gates, monitors, white noise machines, lullaby things, a swing, a crib, random leftover diapers, strollers, pretty much everything but soap...... in my experience people want to give away their unused things to those who are in need.
They might not be movie people especially if they have a young child. The last thing I would want to do is to have to stay awake during a 2 hour movie.
I rather have a gift card for a cleaning person to come in, or for a nicer restaurant that does 'to go' that can be picked up on the way home. Some people with young kids love going out and getting away. Personally, I just want a night off to relax and not have to catch up on cleaning or cooking.
