1st U/S! - Update - not so good

Wow - what a busy day around here!

Just got back from our first U/S which was great!  Based on my LMP I thought I was 6 weeks, but the RE says I'm earlier - at 5 weeks 3 days.  We did see a (one!) yoke sack and it was in the right place - we got a take home picture which my DH couldn't stop staring at :)

Next U/S is a week from Thursday -- SOOOO far away from now!  I am just feeling so great and secure and happy happy happy!

Update: well, just got bad news.  When I was in for my u/s I had another Beta and the PA just called - I'm at 1200 - the last Beta was on 9/17 at 346 so by now she said I should be at 2700.   She said it's not great - we have a 50/50 but most don't make it.  I asked if progesterone supplements would help but she said no. Just letting this sink in - trying to keep it together and get a hold of DH. I don't know how I can make it until next Thursday's appointment

Me: 37 DH: 37 TTC since Jan 2012. RE consult and initial testing done in Aug 2012: SA fine, AMH 1.1 & HSG clear - on way to IUI but got BFP on 9/10/2012. m/c 10/3/2012 at 6w5d. BFP next cycle which was a c/p. IUI #1: Clomid 100mg 12/6= BFN. IUI#2 (unmedicated) Jan 2013 = BFN. Hysteroscopy 1/25/13. IUI#3 Clomid 100mg 2/23 = BFN IUI# 4: BFN. IVF #1 April 2013, BFP!  EDD 1/12/14 with Boy!

    Oh yay!  So happy you had a great appointment!  I hope you feel a bit more relieved since you were worried b/c your betas were lower than mine, now you know why since you're 5w3d and not 6w0d!  What an awesome day today :)

    Oh no, Lenox! How horrible for the PA to rip the rug right out from under you like that! I am sending you lots of good juju. I would take the progesterone supps anyhow (my RE said that unless my OB changes the plan, I'm supposed to take my progesterone supps through 6 weeks and then start tapering them slowly down until I'm done by 8 weeks)... but that's just me.

    I am so sorry for that phone call =(  I will pray that you are in the 50%.  Lots of hugs!!  I know how terrible the waiting is.

    Don't lose hope! Please continue to stay positive and take very good care of yourself. Rest whenever you can and stay well nourished. My betas were very low and very slow to double, but as you can see, my little bean has flourished since then. I hope the very same for you!

    Just wanted to add that I found this chart comforting when I was in beta hell. Basically, what I got out of it is, beta ranges are all over the place and vary from individual to individual and pregnancy to pregnancy. I hope this helps a little!
