Huge Worrier

Hi ladies,

I've been lurking on this board and made a few post here and there and was hoping some you may be able to ease my mind today. Sorry if it is TMI.

At about 6 weeks I had some bleeding, it was minor but I am a huge worrier and went to the ER. Everything was fine, we could see the baby's heartbeat etc.

I followed up with my doctor and had another ultrasound where everything looked great again. I have been taking it super easy since I have been so worried about hurting the baby.My doctor was having me get blood work done every week, and just last week he said I didn't need to anymore because it all looked fine.

Saturday, I was flying home from visiting family and had to carry my dog (about 20 lbs) out of the airplane because my husband wasn't with me.

As soon as I got home I noticed that I had spotted a little. I am super paranoid that I did something by carrying my dog or by flying. I'm almost 10 weeks and wasn't sure if maybe the spotting had to do with my stomach growing more? I'm pretty clueless, but I went about a good week with no spotting at all.

Has anyone else spotted through out their pregnancy? I haven't really noticed much since Saturday and luckily I go to the doctor's this afternoon but its consuming my every thought.

Thanks in advance for any insight! :)

Re: Huge Worrier

  • I haven't experienced spotting throughout my pregnancies (only an early bleeding scare) but I know people who have. It sucked because obviously, when you're pregnant and bleeding, you can't help but worry something might be wrong. If you're worried, there's no shame in giving your Dr a call. Good luck!

  • See my post below about spotting at 10.5 weeks. I am a huge worrier too! I think all moms and moms-to-be are! The only thing that will (potentially) calm me is a visit with the doctor. I am an advocate of getting in touch with your doctor/nurse whenever you have a valid concern. Most docs encourage it. Good luck :)

  • That happened to me after flying when I was about 8 weeks both getting to my destination and returning home, very weird but got checked out and everything was ok. But I'd still call your ob just for peace of mind :)

  • I doubt carrying your 20 lb dog did any harm. I carry my 20 lb daughter around daily.

I hope the spotting is just normal spotting and everything is ok. Good luck!

  • I had some light spotting last week around 11 weeks and the doc had me come in & they did an ultrasound and everything looked find and I got to see my little peanut moving around & the heartbeat was strong!  I'm sure everything will be fine, but I know exactly how you feel, especially being the first time around for me!
